The Newcastle Poetry Festival (NPF) brings poets to Newcastle from all over the world to read, run workshops, and share conversations about poetry.

Created with our regular collaborators and supporters, Bloodaxe Books and the Poetry Book Society, our annual festival is a highlight of the national poetry calendar.

Our 2026 Festival “Re-inventing North”, is now programmed and you can see the full line up and book tickets under ‘What’s On’.

We warmly invite new poets who have not yet published a pamphlet or poetry book to submit a poem for our ‘Open Mic’ session and join our ‘Mentoring Session’ for new poets.

We are looking forward to welcoming you all on 2nd-3rd of October for a wonderful weekend of poetry.
